RTTNews - Friday, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office said in a report that the average monthly gross earnings grew 3.5% year-over-year in April, slower than the 4.3% increase in the previous month. Economists had expected the wages to rise to 3.6%.

At the same time, the average monthly net earnings rose 2.7% in April, compared to a 3.3% growth in March.

During the January-April period, the average gross earnings grew 1.1%, while the net earnings were up 0.8% compared to the same period in the previous year.
