RTTNews - Tuesday, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office said in a report that the average monthly gross earnings grew 4.3% year-over-year in March, faster than the 2.5% increase in the previous month. Economists expected the wages to rise 3.8%.

At the same time, the average monthly net earnings rose 3.3% in March compared to a 1.6% growth in February.

Meanwhile, the number of employees increased 5.3% year-on-year in March, slowing from a 6.7% increase in February.

During the January-March period, the average gross earnings grew 0.3%, while the net earnings were up 0.2% compared to the same period in the previous year. However, the number of employees declined 3.4% during this period.
