Hungary's jobless rate increased to 9.1% in the December to February period from 8.4% in the previous three-month period, a report by the country's Central Statistical Office showed Monday.
The number of unemployed persons increased to 377,700 from 350,800 in the previous three-month period.
At the same time, the number of employed persons decreased to 3.78 million from 3.83 million in the November to January period. The employment rate declined to 49.2% from 49.8%.
For the December to February period, there were 4.16 million economically active persons, down from 4.18 million in the previous three-month period. During the period, the participation rate fell to 54.1% from 54.4% in the November to January period.
