RTTNews - Thursday, Hungary's Central Statistical Office announced that the trade surplus stood at EUR 549 million in June, up from EUR 478.9 million in May. Economists had expected a surplus of EUR 518 million. A year earlier, the trade surplus was EUR 30.8 million.

Exports dropped 21% year-on-year to EUR 5.11 billion in June, while imports fell 29% to EUR 4.56 billion.

For the January to June period, the trade surplus amounted to EUR 2.08 billion, up from EUR 331.6 million in a year ago. During the period, exports and imports decreased by 26% and 30%, respectively.
