RTTNews - Monday, Hungary's Central Statistical Office announced that the jobless rate stood at 9.8% in the March to May period, slower than the 9.9% in the February to April period. Economists were looking for an increase of 10%. A year ago, the jobless rate was 7.7%.

During the period, the number of unemployed totaled 410,000, smaller than the 412, 000 persons in the previous three month period.

Meanwhile, the employment participation rate increased to 54.5% from 54.3% in the February to April period.
