Hungary Retail Sales Fall Further In April

RTTNews - Thursday, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office said in a report that retail sales dropped a calendar adjusted 4.1% year-on-year in April, faster than a 3.6% fall in the preceding month. Economists expected a decline of 4.6%.

Month-on-month, retail sales were down a seasonal and calendar adjusted 0.3% in April compared to a 0.6% drop in March.

On both the annual and monthly basis, retail sales of furniture and household goods showed the steepest fall. Annually, sales dropped 10.6%, while compared to previous month, sales were down 0.9%.
