Katniss has landed. “The Hunger Games” cast hit the red carpet on Monday night for the Los Angeles premiere of “Mockingjay – Part 1.” Stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and more were on hand at the Nokia Theatre to promote the Nov. 21 release of the third “Hunger Games” installment.

Based on the young adult series by Suzanne Collins, “The Hunger Games” has been a box office hit since the first film made its way to theaters in 2012. The second installment, “Catching Fire,” was released in 2013, and now the third book in Collins’ franchise is being split into two films – “Mockingjay – Part 1” in Nov. 2014, and “Mockingjay – Part 2” in Nov. 2015.

While “Mockingjay – Part 1” has yet to premiere nationwide, the film is already on track to become the biggest box office success of 2014 thanks to advance ticket sales that were released on Oct. 29. According to MovieTickets.com, the third film was able to trump the sales of “any other movie of 2014” in just two days. Fandango had similar results, reporting that “Mockingjay” tickets made up “80 percent of its daily traffic on Oct. 29.”

The latest movie will follow Katniss (Lawrence) as she reluctantly helps District 13 fight Panem after getting “rescued” from the 75th Hunger Games. However things get personal when it’s revealed that the Capitol has captured Peeta (Hutcherson) and is using him as their “poster child” to help their side of the rebellion.

“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1” will premiere in theaters nationwide on Friday, Nov. 21.
