Woody Harrelson will be back as Haymitch Abernathy in “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1” when it hits theaters on Nov. 21. Before then, however, he’ll host an episode of “Saturday Night Live.” In the promos for the new episode, Harrelson playfully mocks the series with Taran Killam (SNL cast member).

In the commercial for the Nov. 15 episode, Harrelson suggests that the SNL cast have a “Hunger Games” competition. For those unfamiliar with the books or films, he’s suggesting that the cast fight to the death.

“Just [kill off] one person – you got a huge cast,” he says after confessing he floated the idea to SNL creator Lorne Michaels. Killam doesn’t seem thrilled about the idea, but that doesn’t last long before Aidy Bryant (SNL cast member) solves the problem.

The video, posted below, contains the joke in question as well as a few other promos for season six of episode 40, including an uncomfortable hug between Killam and Harrelson featuring “another Woody.”

It probably goes without saying that Harrelson isn't actually badmouthing “The Hunger Games” films but rather just playing along for laughs, as the “True Detective” star has in the past gushed over Suzanne Collins’ story and his fellow cast members.

Harrelson hosts this Saturday’s episode with musical guest Kendrick Lamar on NBC at 11:30/10:30c.
