“Vampire Diaries” fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Despite reports that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev’s break up has become ugly, the former lovers appear to be sharing custody of their cat.

Somerhalder and Dobrev have not made any statements about their relationship since their split in early May, but their Twitter and Instagram photos may reveal what’s going on behind closed doors. Before ending their relationship the pair had a “kid” together … their cute furry orange cat, Moke! While Nina Dobrev has revealed via Twitter pictures that she has custody of the cat, Somerhalder posted a photo of their beloved Moke just a few days ago.

On June 21, Ian Somerhalder tweeted, “In honor of #PetsAtWork day, look who is in the recycling basket in my office …”

Since a cat can’t be in two places at once, it appears that the exes are sharing custody of their beloved pet. However the tricky thing is that Somerhalder is currently in London filming his new movie “The Anomaly,” and Dobrev is on a tropical vacation with her brother, Alex.

On June 12, the actress psoted on Twitter that she was packing before heading “somewhere.”

“Kid is helping me pack,” she posted, referring to Moke. “Said I should bring my @gentsco hat … I agree bc its awesome+ raises awareness for children w/ Hodgkins lymphoma.”

She tweeted another photo of her cat, writing, “I think he wants me to bring him too … Won’t leave the suitcase! #unconditionallove #reciprocated.”

We doubt that Nina Dobrev shipped Moke across the pond to her ex, which makes it more likely that neither of them officially moved out of the residence they reportedly share. While outlets initially claimed that their breakup occurred due to opposing views on settling down, CelebDirtyLaundy.com is reporting that there is a possibility of reconciliation when they both return to Atlanta to begin shooting season five of “The Vampire Diaries.”

For those that missed the season four finale of "The Vampire Diaries," Dobrev's character, Elena, ended up choosing to be with Ian Somerhalder's Damon. The actors had an awkward post-break up reunion at the CW Upfronts in May, and fans are worried that the tension on set might lead to the show being cancelled or Somerhalder giving up his role as Damon.
