IBM Unveils Latest Expert Integrated Systems PureSystems REUTERS

IBM, on 11 April, launched PureSystems - the first offering in a new category called Expert Integrated Systems - which , according to the company, combines the flexibility of a general-purpose system, the elasticity of the cloud and the simplicity of an appliance.

According to ZDNET, the aim of PureSystems is to provide integrated systems which have expertise to automate maintenance, look forward to computing requirements and scale servers, storage and networking resources as needed.

PureSystems is the result of $2 billion in R&D and achievements over four years, an outstanding move by the company to integrate all IT elements, both virtual and physical, IBM elaborated. The company is releasing three major advances which are designed to allow businesses to cut down high costs and complexity associated with managing information technology.

Scale-In System Design

The Scale-In System design is a concept which integrates the server, storage and networking into a highly-automated simple machine. The system offers increased density - PureSystems can handle twice as many applications when compared to IBM systems.

Patterns of Expertise

The company has embedded technology and industry expertise through software which allows the systems to handle basic and time-consuming activities such as upgrades and applications requirements.

Cloud Ready Integration

The family members of PureSystems are built for the cloud, enabling corporations to create private, self-service cloud offerings which can scale automatically.

With the latest scale-in design and built -in expertise, PureSystems exhibits an important advance in the evolution of computing. According to IBM, PureSystems is a latest software capability called Patterns of Expertise. For instance, a customer relationship management program which is utilised to take three days to set up can now be deployed under one hour.
