"Skyfall" star Naomie Harris recently addressed her role in the latest James Bond film, and spoke about who she thinks should be the first black 007.

In 2008, according to the Daily News, Daniel Craig, the current James Bond, admitted that although the creator of Bond, Ian Fleming, never envisioned a black Bond, we are ready for a black 007.

Harris told the Huffington Post that she never realized there had been talk about a black James Bond, but that actor Idris Elba would be a great match.

“I didn’t realize that there was this talk and then I did a film with Idris [Elba] and he said that he met Barbara Broccoli [James Bond producer] and that it does seem like there is a possibility in the future that there could very well be a black James Bond.

And I would have to vote for Idris because I just finished working with him and he’s a great guy,” she went on to say.

Back in 2011, Elba addressed the rumor himself, telling NPR, “It's a very old rumor. My dad and I were talking about this the other day. I would do it, but I don't want to be called the first black James Bond.

Do you understand what I 'm saying? Sean Connery wasn't the Scottish James Bond and Daniel Craig wasn't the blue-eyed James Bond. So if I played him, I don't want to be called the black James Bond."

Elba, who is British, then explained that he did not come to America "to play black roles. I just came to play roles."

But Elba further admitted, "if Sony decided to call me and said hey, we wanted to do [James Bond], I'd definitely consider it."
