UPDATE 2:45 p.m. EDT:

New Jersey Stat Police have identified the passengers involved in the car wreck. Passenger James McNair was riding in Morgan’s limo and was killed in the accident, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Comedians Harris Stanton and Ardie Fuqua were also in Morgan’s limo and were injured and hospitalized.

According to State Police Sgt. First Class Gregory Williams, a tractor trailer driver "failed to observe slow moving traffic ahead of him". He swerved into Morgan's limo while trying to avoid hitting vehicles ahead of him. This led to the “chain reaction” that caused the 6-car accident.

Original story:

Several photos have emerged of the 6-car pileup that injured comedian Tracy Morgan and several others.

The accident happened about 1 a.m. Saturday morning on the New Jersey Turnpike, reports CNN. Morgan was riding in a bus limo when the accident occurred, said Sgt. Gregory Williams of New Jersey State Police. In addition to the bus, the wreck involved two tractor-trailers and an SUV, he added.

Williams said that alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the accident and it appears that one of the tractor-trailers rear-ended the bus. However, that theory is still under investigation. The bus was the only vehicle that overturned in the accident.

One witness of the accident’ aftermath took to Instagram to share a photo he took of the overturned limo bus and crash scene.

Other images of the accident have also been released from the scene.

One person was killed and seven others hospitalized with injuries, officials said. Morgan is currently in critical condition.
