(REUTERS) - The International Monetary Fund said on Monday its board had approved a 2.2. billion euro ($2.9 billion) loan disbursement to Greece, part of a three-year IMF-EU bailout package to help the country from going bankrupt .

The executive board of the International Monetary Fund today completed the fifth review of Greece's economic performance under a program supported by a three-year Stand-By Arrangement (SBA) for Greece, the IMF said in a brief statement.
