Stocks opened sharply higher on Thursday, boosted by confirmation of solid China export data and after Wednesday's late sell-off.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> jumped 168.83 points, or 1.71 percent, at 10,068.08. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 18.93 points, or 1.79 percent, at 1,074.62. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> rose 35.32 points, or 1.64 percent, at 2,194.17.
