Friday, the Reserve Bank of India revealed in a report that nation's foreign reserves stood at US$ 251.702 billion as on May 1, down from US$ 253.091 billion as on April 24.

At the same time, gold reserves decreased to US$ 9.231 billion from US$ 9.577 billion. Foreign currency assets amounted to US$ 241.487 billion, smaller than the US$ 242.530 billion recorded in the previous week.

Meanwhile, nation's reserve position with the International Monetary Fund remained unchanged at US$ 983 million.
