India has a remote possibility of reporting a growth of less than 6% in the current fiscal, PTI quotes Reserve Bank of India Governor D.Subba Rao. He refuted that political pressure was exerted on the bank to project a 6% growth. He added that the projection was a professional judgment on the evidence available.

Subba Rao said that there was no need to expect the country's growth to be downward, as was done in January's credit policy review. He said if necessary, it would have been reflected in the policy statement now also, and said that there was less uncertainty of a 6% growth this year.
