RTTNews - India's economy grew 6.1% year-on-year in the June quarter, faster than the 5.8% growth recorded in the previous quarter, the Central Statistical Organization said Monday. That was slightly slower than a 6.2% growth economists had predicted.

A year ago, economic growth was 7.8% in the fiscal first quarter.

Manufacturing output climbed 3.4% in the June quarter from a year earlier and agriculture production rose 2.4%. Mining and quarrying output grew 7.9% and construction output rose 7.1%.
