The Indian stock market, bond and currency markets are closed on Tuesday for Mahavir Jayanti. Trading will resume on Wednesday.

The stock market closed at its highest in five months on Monday, helped by firm global cues. The BSE Sensex closed at 10,535, up 186 points or 1.80% over the previous close, while the S&P CNX Nifty rose 46 points or 1.42% to 3,257.

The rupee settled Monday's session stronger at Rs.50.04/05 against the dollar compared to its previous close of Rs.50.33/35. The yield on the benchmark 2019 bond closed at 7% as against 6.93% on Thursday. The bond and the forex markets were closed last Friday for Sri Rama Navami.
