The Indian trade balance surplus widened to $3002 million in December compared with a prior surplus of $1898 million, and the forecasted surplus was $1956 million. Exports jumped 49.8% from 11.3%, and it came much better than forecasts saying it will rise 23.6%. Moreover, imports climbed 33.4% following a decline by 2.4%, while forecasts referred to 17.7%.
