An Indian woman who claimed her father sexually abused her for three years allegedly got revenge by bludgeoning him to death in his sleep and ripping out his pacemaker to make sure he was dead, the Times of India reported on Tuesday.

The woman, whose name was changed in the story, her boyfriend and a second man allegedly hit the 56-year-old father multiple times with a wicket before strangling him with a cable as he slept in his New Delhi home last week, according to the paper. To make sure her father was dead, the 23-year-old woman tore his chest apart using a piece of glass and pulled out his pacemaker. The body was then wrapped in a bed sheet, stuffed in a car and dumped in a drain.

Prince Sandhu was identified as the woman’s boyfriend, and Ashok Sharma was named as the second man allegedly involved in the murder. Police told the Times of India that phone records led to the arrests of the two men.

"We arrested Prince and Sharma and recovered the blood-stained cricket stump, cable, a knife, glass shards and the” car, local law enforcement official Ranvir Singh told the paper. "She alleged her father made physical advances towards her and exploited her. If she objected, she was beaten up and threatened. He also did not allow her to meet her boyfriend. Finally, she made up her mind to get rid of him."

The woman confessed to the murder after a lengthy interrogation, police said. Her father’s body, which had multiple head and chest injuries, was found on April 30 after police received a tip.

The woman claimed that her father, whose name was also changed in the story, started abusing her three years ago after her mother died. The woman lived with her father and was unemployed, according to the Times of India.
