India's exports for February month declined 21.7% to $11,913 million from $15,221 million in the same month last year. In rupee terms the exports slipped 3% to Rs.58,685 crore from Rs.60,476 crore in the year ago month. The exports for April-February period of this year grew 7.3% in dollar terms and 20.3% in rupee terms.

India's imports for the month of February declined 23.3% to $16,823 million from $21,934 million in the corresponding month of prior year. In rupee terms, the imports dropped 4.9% to Rs.82,872 crore from Rs.87,151 crore in the same month last year. The imports for February-April period increased 19.1% in dollar terms and 33.4% in rupee terms.

The deficit for February month in dollar terms narrowed to $4910 million from $6714 million in the same month last year. The cumulative deficit for the period of April-February rose to $115090 million from $82203 million.

In rupee terms the deficit slipped to Rs.24,187 crore in February as compared to Rs.26,675 crore in the corresponding month of last year. The deficit for the period of April to February grew to Rs.5,17,982 crore from Rs.3,30,946 crore in the same period last year.
