RTTNews - India's Finance Ministry may withdraw Commodity Transaction Tax, introduced by the then Finance Minister P.Chidambaram, a year ago and not levied due to stiff resistance from commodity exchanges and sectoral regulator Forward Markets Commission (FMC), reports PTI.

Besides FMC's request to withdraw CTT, several industry chambers including FICCI have sought withdrawal of CTT as imposing such a tax might increase grey market operations.
