RTTNews - The new Indian Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee reportedly expressed confidence that the political stability in the country could put back the economy in growth track easily.

According to official sources, Mukherjee, taking charge on Monday, has convened a meeting of senior finance ministry officials immediately after assuming office. He expressed hope that the government would be able to present the union budget for the year 2009-10 in due time.

Mukherjee said that the country would feel the impact of stimulus packages announced earlier and along with political stability, credit inflows and other measures needed to encourage growth could be easier. He said that the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would address the immediate concerns in the economy in the debate on motion of thanks to President's address.

The Finance Minister also admitted that export sectors have been impacted adversely due to recession. However, he said that exports are picking up.
