RTTNews - India's six core sectors that have a combined weight of 26.68% in the index of industrial production grew 4.3% in April compared to 2.3% in April last year, the Commerce & Industry ministry said in a release.

The coal sector and cement sector contributed significantly to the growth of the sectors by rising 13.2% and 11.6% respectively, while electricity generation and finished steel sectors output grew 6% and 1.6% respectively. However, crude oil and petroleum refinery products output reported negative growth.
