Industrial production in France misses analyst's forecasts

Industrial production in France slipped to -0.1% in December, lower than both prior of 1.1% revised down to 0.6% and the estimated 0.5%. On the year, the reading punged to -2.3% compared with the predicted and previous readings of -1.6% and -3.8% respectively.

Still demand in France is weak, despite leaving recession in the second quarter, as the economy did not fully recover from the negative repercussion for the global downswing.

Manufacturing production for December alsoslid to -0.8% relative to the revised 0.8% from 1.6% and median expectations of 0.2%. Annually, the reading came in at -2.0% from -2.9% revised to -3.2%, below forecasts of -0.8%.
