Dan Wheldon won his second Indianapolis 500 race in a spectacular fashion as race leader J.R. Hildebrand crashed in the last turn before the finish line.

Hildebrand, who didn't suffer any major injuries, was left in shock. Hands on his knees, he struggled to come to terms with the misfortune he just had.

It's a helpless feeling, he said after the race.

But Wheldon's victory in the 100th Anniversary of the Indy 500 is reviewed by IndyCar Series officials because Hildebrand's car was able to cross the finish line under its own power.

As of 4 p.m. ET, official results had not been posted and remains under review.

For now, Wheldon is the driver celebrating the victory in one of the most stunning final laps in the 100-year history of the Indy 500.
