YouTube star and beauty blogger Ingrid Nilsen came out to her 3.3 million followers in a personal and touching video Tuesday. In the 20-minute clip, she said she was finally able to be her true self after revealing her sexual identity.

“We all deserve our best chance,” she captioned the video. “Here's a random, but meaningful assortment of things that have given me comfort on my path to acceptance. Think of them as a hug from me to you.”

With a shaky voice and tears in her eyes she said: "There's something I want you to know, and that something is I'm gay.”

"It feels so good to say that. I'm shaking right now because this moment is real and it's here and I've been waiting for this a long time, so I am sitting here today because I care about you guys,” Nilsen, 26, added. “You've been a part of my life for the past almost six years, and this is a really big part of my life, and I want to sit down and talk to you and have this conversation just like I've had this conversation with friends an people who are close to me in my life.”

The vlogger continued: “I guess the only place I really know where to start is with a question I got asked a lot, and that is how-slash-when did you know you were gay?" She then explained the answer was both easy and complicated, but she knew since she was 4 years old.

"This is not something that I chose. This is something that is a part of me and has always been a part of me,” Nilsen said. She dated men in the past, and she added that she felt fourtunate her last boyfriend was “kind and respectful through all of this.”

She said she took so long to be public about the news because she thought being gay wasn’t accepted. But she’s had a change of heart. "This is me and the fact that I'm gay is a part of me ... and I'm so excited!" she finished.
