Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum returned to make it work on the Project Runway Season 10 premiere Thursday night on Lifetime.

The beloved judge joined Heidi Klum, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia for the tenth season's first episode of the ultra-popular show, during which viewers eagerly awaited his catchphrase make it work, which is he is known for saying to frustrated fashion designers competing on Project Runway.

Featuring 16 up-and-coming contestants all hoping to be the next great American designer, Season 10 of Project Runway is bound to have its share of failures and triumphs, drama and tension.

The series only began filming a month ago, and the first episode starts with a bang. On June 15, the 16 contestants put on the first live Project Runway fashion show in Times Square in New York City, hoping to make a splash with their finest new creations.

The 16 hopeful Project Runway winners were challenged to design contemporary creations, one of which they had to create at home, and one of which they designed and made at Manhattan's Parsons School of Design.

And they didn't disappoint, revealing a wide range of exciting and interesting looks that get the season off to a promising start, though as usual the judges were not afraid to be critical or full of praise when analyzing the contestants' first projects during the course of the season premiere, which featured guest judges Lauren Graham and Patricia Field.

Season 10 Episode 2 will have the contestants the unconventional challenge where the designers will have to make clothing from candy purchased at New York's Dylan's Candy Bar store.

The tenth season of the hit show's exclusive retail sponsor is Lord & Taylor, which will host a challenge for the show at its flagship location on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue.
