Comedian Steve Carell responded to the internet's growing obsession with his graying hair in an interview Saturday with Entertainment Tonight. During a visit to London to promote "Despicable Me 3," Twitter users pointed out that the actor has reached "silver fox" status.

Fans praised the 54-year-old for his new hairstyle and dapper clothing choice when he hit the streets of London in a fitted sweater and khaki pants.

"I am so sick of people just looking at me for my physical attributes," Carell told reporter Carly Steel. "It's just genetic. There's nothing I can do."

Nonetheless, Twitter users were all for Carell's transformation, comparing his improved style to his character Cal Weaver's makeover from the 2011 romantic comedy "Crazy, Stupid, Love." One Twitter user said: "2017 Steve Carell is 2011 Steve Carell after his wife screws David Lindhagen in Crazy, Stupid, Love."

Carell isn't the only celebrity to be praised for embracing the gray. Several other public figures have conquered silver fox status.

George Clooney

Clooney has never shied away from displaying his gray hair. During an interview with the BBC in May 2015, the Academy Award winner revealed his thoughts on aging in Hollywood and how he doesn't want to battle it, claiming "there is nothing fun" about aging.

"I'm a big believer in the idea that you can't try to look younger, you can just try to look the best you can at the age you are," the 56-year-old added.

Matt LeBlanc

Since departing from popular NBC show "Friends," LeBlanc decided to embrace the gray. The actor admitted to being prematurely gray, which led him to dye his hair during his time playing Joey Tribiani on "Friends."

"I dyed my hair the whole time I on 'Friends,'" LeBlanc, 49, admitted in 2010 while on a Television Critics Panel for the Showtime series "Episodes." He added that he grew sick of doing it.

Anderson Cooper

While many fans of the CNN journalist adore his full-on white hair, Cooper wasn't quick to embrace it. During a conversation with Kelly Ripa on "Live! With Kelly" in 2016, the 50-year-old revealed that he missed his brown hair.

"I don’t really like my gray hair. I wish I still had brown hair. It’s not my thing," Cooper said. "If I could, I would probably color my hair, but I couldn’t imagine sitting in a salon with tin foil in my hair reading old issues of 'Rosie' for hours. At this point it’s too late — the cow has left the barn."

Richard Gere

Gere has aged gracefully over the years. In an interview with the Express in 2015, the famed actor admitted to dying his hair for previous roles, but he enjoys growing out his gray hair.

"I have never dyed my hair in my life - and I am not going to start now," the 67-year-old told the Express. "I have had to darken it for a couple of films, such as 'Unfaithful' It perhaps knocks off five years, no more. But the moment filming is over, I just let it go gray again."

Rick Fox

Fox, 47, isn't afraid to show off his gray hair. In 2015, the former NBA basketball player responded to a Twitter troll who mocked Fox's gray hair, saying: "By design - the grey hair helps with the wisdom."
