iOS 5
iOS 5.0.1 upgrade Apple

Notification Center is one of the highlights of iOS 5, the operating system of the recently launched iPhone 4S. The developers at Intelliborn have come up with an amazing app that adds new functionality to the iOS 5 Notification Center.

The men behind IntelliScreen have now created yet another jailbreak app called IntelliScreenX, which makes the iOS 5 Notification Center available even on the lock screen. Other functionality that it adds to iOS 5 include quick selection buttons at the top of the pull-down for easy access to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Airplane mode and rotating lock.

With the help of the app, you can now view the notifications bar to the lock screen. You can read, delete, send or mark emails read from within Notification Center, you can see Twitter, Facebook feeds and extended calendar.

Meanwhile, some hackers and jailbreakers (those who legally hack mobile phones) have been able to instantly offer a jailbreak of the latest Apple mobile operating system.

You can now jailbreak iOS 5 using the Redsn0w version 0.9.9b5. The Redsn0w version 0.9.9b5 is a tethered jailbreak, which means that the user needs a Windows or Mac computer that runs Redsn0w to boot a jailbroken iOS device.

Every time the iOS device reboots, or the battery dies, the user needs to connect, or tether, the device to the computer so that the hardware can boot with the help of the jailbreak application. However, the jailbreak is compatible with all devices running iOS 5 -- except for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.

According to numerous reports, iOS hackers and jailbreakers have already found a way to make an untethered iOS 5 jailbreak. It has also been claimed that jailbreakers have managed to find many exploits that are expected to allow them to jailbreak iPhone 4S.

Check out the video below to see IntelliScreenX in action. The jailbroken app is only available now in limited beta, but is expected to be released next week.
