Apple iOS 5
Apple's new iOS 5 Apple

Many of the Apple fans seem to have lost their hopes of jailbreaking their iPhones, iPads and iPods running on iOS 5.

The two most active jailbreakers of the year - Pod2g and MuscleNerd - have not been active for the last four days and must have been busy in Christmas celebrations. If this speculation is right, then the untethered jailbreak for A4 devices is not coming for the Apple users this year.

Jailbreak for A5 devices like iPad 2 and iPhone 4S is definitely going to take some more time and will not be released in 2011 even if it is found in next four days.

Pod2g, the French member of the Chronic Dev-team, who had been posting updates of his work every day on his blog, has been inactive on his official page since Dec. 22.

In his last blog post on Dec. 22, the French hacker said: I read the comments on the blog, and I know that a lot of people are waiting for the A5 jailbreak.

Also, I know there are tons of people out there with A4 or even earlier devices who wants to untether, now and don't care about it could be interesting to wait A5 is finished to release or even 5.1, so that we don't waste an exploit that took me months to find and develop, he said.

iPhone Dev-team member MuscleNerd is also not posting anything on his Twitter page and on the blog of iPhone Dev-team.

MuscleNerd also posted his last update on the same day and since then there has been no news from him too.

In his last Tweet, he came up with a suggestion for the 3GS old-bootrom users. He asked the 3Gs old bootrom users to apply latest Redsn0w 0.9.9b9d before installing Ultrasn0w compatibility update.

Though MuscleNerd is not working to find out a jailbreak for A5 devices, the hacker has kept the hopes of all the jailbreak fans alive by releasing two jailbreaks for iOS 5 devices supported by A4 processor.

MuscleNerd, so far, has released a tethered and a semi-tethered jailbreak for A4 devices running on iOS 5.

Pod2g and MuscleNerd both, in their initial efforts, were unable to find a bootrom-level exploit for the A5 devices, now it is clear that the jailbreak for A5 devices is not coming this year. However, Pod2g has found an untethered jailbreak for A4 devices, but the release is not going to happen this year as he seems to have winded up his work for the year.

In case the jailbreak comes in next four days, it will be a really big surprise for the people waiting for it for a long time.
