A few hours ago, the Canadian hacker iH8sn0w released the latest version of his popular jailbreak utility - Sn0wBreeze 2.9.1 after fixing numerous bugs, including the iPhone 3G iPad-flashing issue.

Just a bump on sn0wbreeze, pushed to v2.9.1... iPhone 3G never flashed the iPad baseband when chosen, and fixed PAM issues, iH8sn0w tweeted.

Early this week, iH8sn0w released Sn0wBreeze 2.9, which comes with some new features, such as support for pod2g's iOS 5.0.1 untethered exploit. It also allows users to remove the OTA base from Settings app and incorporates key UI improvements.

It's said that Sn0wbreeze is a Windows users' wonderful alternative to RedSn0w.

But some issues have popped up after people used it. Particularly, when iPhone 3G users tries to flash over a custom iPad baseband, a few notable issues appeared. Fortunately, in the same week, iH8sn0w released the fix.

Sn0wbreeze 2.9.1 can be used just as sn0wbreeze 2.9, which the iDownload blog has explained with a video.

1: Download the latest version of Sn0wbreeze from here.

2: Run Sn0wbreeze in XP compatibility mode as an administrator.

3: Browse for IPSW firmware or use the in app IPSW download tool to download the necessary IPSW. The Sn0wbreeze will generate the custom IPSW and place it on users' desktop.

4: Once custom firmware was created, click OK, place the device into DFU mode.

5: Then click Start to enter iREB that will place the device into PwnedDFU mode for custom firmware restores with iTunes.

6: After the device is verified in PwnedDFU, click OK, then close Sn0wbreeze and open iTunes. iTunes should recognize the device in DFU mode.

7: Hold shift on the keyboard and click restore, then select the custom firmware. You should make sure it is prefixed with Sn0wbreeze.

8: Restore the device, after this step is completed, you should have a jailbroken device running on iOS 5.0.1 untethered.
