It's not too long before the official untethered jailbreak for both iPhone 4S and iPad 2 will become a reality.

Pod2g, the hacker behind the iOS 5 exploit for both A4 and A5 powered devices, running on iOS 5 or iOS 5.0.1, has just posted a video on his blog of a fully untethered jailbreak running on Apple's iPhone 4S.

It looks like the jailbreaking team has finally resolved the caching issues, which initially caused the iPhone 4S jailbreak to fail.

However, there is no precise ETA for the most recent jailbreak, though Pod2g did confirm with, Only a few to wait now.

In the meantime, those who've yet to upgrade their iPhone 4S or iPad 2 to iOS 5.0.1 can do so immediately, with Apple patching the Corona untethered jailbreak in the latest iOS 5.1 Beta to registered developers as of Friday. Users are advised to update their devices soon before Apple stops signing it, after which users may face difficulties in downgrading their device back to the same version. The only untethered jailbreak, currently available on the iPhone 4 and all other A4 devices, works only on iOS 5.0.1.

Here's a clip of the video, by developer and hacker Dustin Howett, which shows a fully untethered jailbreak on the iPhone 4S.
