The Apple media event is bare hours away from kicking off, triggering a deluge of rumors and speculations about the next generation iPad, ranging from the features to the price.

Currently, excited Apple fans all over the world are waiting for the official announcement at 10 A.M. PT March 7. The venue - Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco - will become a hotbed of activity on Wednesday.

Most rumors have indicated that the new iPad (which could be named iPad 3, iPad 2S or even iPad HD) will boast of Retina display with resolution of 2048x1536 pixels, a quad core Apple A6 chip, and improved camera. The size and design of the new tablet might remain the same as iPad 2 - 9.7-inch - but the thickness may be tad increased (by around 1mm).
