iPhone 8 News: Vertical Dual-Cameras

The leaked photo of the clear iPhone 8 case suggests the smartphone will come with a dual-camera positioned vertically instead of horizontally, different from how it's currently placed on the iPhone 7.

The case backs up a recent Bloomberg report that said Apple was reportedly testing versions of the iPhone 8 for better photos by positioning the dual-camera system vertically. This week, a schematic leak suggested the cameras on the 10th anniversary phone will be vertically aligned. Another rumor pointed to a vertical camera module would make the device ideal for augmented reality games.

Here’s the leaked schematic of the iPhone 8 released this week:

The leaked picture of the iPhone 8 case also shows a longer power button on the bottom of the device, compared to the current lightning port, which is smaller.

iPhone 8 Embedded Touch ID

Numerous reports have claimed Apple will release the iPhone 8 with the Touch ID embedded in the screen display. However, an analyst said this month that integrating the new Touch ID onto the display was the feature causing Apple the most trouble.

Some reports have said Apple will embed the Touch ID on the back of the phone rather than the front of the display. However, Friday’s leaked iPhone case image suggests the Touch ID will be located on the front of the device.

Rumored Features For Apple’s iPhone 8

Apple is expected to release the OLED display iPhone 8 this September alongside two LCD versions, the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus. However, some reports have suggested the iPhone 8 could be delayed because of some features.

The 10th anniversary iPhone could come with a price tag exceeding $1,000. The three new models this year are expected to measure 4.7-inches, 5.5-inches and a 5.8-inch version. The 2017 iPhones are rumored to come with True Tone display, which is currently available on the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

The 10th anniversary iPhone is rumored to come with an array of new features. The iPhone 8, which could also be called the iPhone X, iPhone Pro or iPhone Edition, is rumored to come with an OLED screen display, wireless charging, and a 3D-sensing camera which could allow for augmented reality and virtual reality capabilities.

Other rumors suggest the iPhone 8 will feature a Smart Connector for wireless charging and AR and VR accessories.
