The trial of the Iraqi shoe-throwing reporter Muntazer al-Zaidi was set to start on Thursday February 19, 200 has been adjourned.

In December 2008, al-Zaidi threw his shoes at former U.S. president George W. Bush calling him a dog.

According to Reuters reports, al-Zaidi who has been hailed a hero does not regret his action.

Should al-Zaidi found guilty of the offense he will face up to 15 years in prison.

He has been in prison since the incident, his family say that he has been tortured whilst in detention.

The trial is set for March 12, 2009.
