Like many other celebrity spawn before her, Ireland Baldwin is looking to find fame independent of her actor father, Alec Baldwin, and model mother, Kim Basinger.

The teen turned professional model posted an open letter on her blog Tuesday, ranting about comments from online bullies after signing with IMG Models and Two Management agency in March. Baldwin admitted that the insensitive remarks have been taken a toll on her infant career.

“… What is the good in commenting on a photo of a 17-year-old girl and calling her fat and ugly? Is that helpful in some way? I’m confused,” said Baldwin, who wrote she doesn’t consider herself as “glamorous” as fellow model Rosie Huntington-Whitley. “I understand that I am not a size .008,” she said.

The model admitted she had been battling self-esteem and body images prior to her career in the fashion industry, claiming modeling has helped to boost her confidence.

“I apologize to some of you that my decision to try modeling is bothering you so much. I wanted to get a feel for it. This opportunity arose, so I took it,” she said. “Modeling can really help you feel beautiful!”

Despite joining her famous father, 55-year-old “30 Rock” star, Alec Baldwin, on multiple red carpet events, the teen said she is looking to gain fame without the help of her A-list father and model mother, 59-year-old Kim Basinger.

“I AM NOT MY PARENTS,” wrote Baldwin. My mom is one of the most beautiful woman in the world. She is 5’9, I am 6’2. She is petite and fragile, and I am fit and…. more to love,” she said, stating she hopes the leaked voicemail of her father calling her a “rude, thoughtless little pig” isn’t her only legacy.

“Just like almost all of you, my dad has made some mistakes in the past. He has spoken out of place, he has let his temper get the best of him, and he has reacted towards things in ways he shouldn’t have,” said Baldwin, who admitted she still continually receives “hateful” tweets about the 6-year-old incident.

“This isn’t fair. I had nothing to do with anything that happened back then, so I don’t fully understand why I am being targeted ...," she said. "I have passions and interests of my own that I want to soon give life to. I want to be known for helping others and being a healthy role model."
