Thursday, Ireland's Central Statistics Office said in a report that the consumer price index or CPI dropped 2.6% year-over-year in March, after falling 1.7% in February.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices were flat in March, compared to the 0.4% decline in the previous month.

The harmonized index of consumer prices or HICP decreased 0.7% year-on-year in March, in contrast to a 0.1% Increase in the preceding month. The HICP was up 0.1% month-on-month in March, slower than a 0.2% rise seen in the previous month.
