RTTNews - Thursday, Ireland's Central Statistical Office announced that the retail sales volume dropped 17.9% year-over-year in March, compared with a 20.9% fall in the previous month. A year ago, retail sales were down 4.3%.

On a monthly basis, retail sales increased 1.3% in March, smaller than the 5.7% growth in the preceding month.

In the first quarter, retail sales volume declined 21.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Meanwhile, retail sales value decreased 21.1% year-on-year in March, after falling 23.4% in February. Month-on-month, retail sales value rose 0.8% in March, compared to the 5% increase in the previous month.
