Ireland's parliament voted in favor of an 85 billion euro EU/IMF bailout on Wednesday, paving the way for the IMF to approve its portion of the funds later this week.

Deputies voted 81 to 75 in favor of the package, which provides 35 billion euros in support for the banking sector and 50 billion euros to cover the country's borrowing costs over the next three years.
