President Obama had to cut his Ireland trip short due to the air travel threat of volcanic ash over Iceland. But had he been able to stay for awhile, he might have enjoyed dinner at these top Dublin area restaurants.
The 2011 Irish Restaurant Awards were held May 25 at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin. Ireland's best restaurants were honored with a multi-course meal and reception. Although Ireland is not traditionally associated with inventive fine dining, some very impressive restaurants have raised the bar for culinary excellence, as Dublin emerges as a gourmand destination.
