As the current conflict between Hamas and the Israeli Defense Force entered its second week, journalists and activists took to Twitter to report death tolls: 175 Palestinians killed, according to Palestinian Health Ministry, and no Israelis. The numbers provoked an angry discussion between users across the social media platform.

People tweeted back at David Frum, a senior editor at The Atlantic and former speechwriter for president George W. Bush, many in outrage over his comment. One user, Eli Clifton, a reporting fellow with The Investigative Fund at The Nation Institute, said: "Apparently zero dead Israelis are too many and 170+ dead Palestinians are too few for @DavidFrum."
