RTTNews - Italian business and retailers' confidence rose in July, but sentiment fell among service providers, results of the confidence surveys conducted by the ISAE showed Wednesday.

According to a survey conducted among 4,000 companies, the business climate indicator rose to 71.7 in July from a revised 69.8 in June and the reading reached to a level last seen in November 2008. Business sentiment rose for the fourth month in a row.

A separate survey for the retail sector showed that the confidence indicator climbed to 98.8 in July from a revised 98.6 in the previous month. The think tank said the assessment on current sales and expected sales improved in July.

In another report, the ISAE said the confidence indicator for the service sector dropped to minus 13 from a revised minus 11 in last month due to increased uncertainty of the Italian economic recovery.
