RTTNews - Italian producer prices fell 4.6% year-on-year in April following a downwardly revised 4% contraction in March, statistical office Istat said Friday. Meanwhile, economists had expected producer prices to all 5.4%. On a monthly basis, the producer price index, or PPI, fell 0.4%.

The PPI for domestically sold products was down 0.5% on month and 5.3% on an annual basis. At the same time, producer prices for products sold in the foreign markets dropped 0.2% month-on-month, taking the annual decline to 2.6%.
