Italian producer prices dropped 0.6% month-on-month in March, larger than an expected 0.4% decline, the statistical office report showed Monday.

Annually, the production price index for industrial products slipped 3.9% in March. Economists were expecting an annual 4.3% drop.

Producer prices for consumer goods remained flat on a monthly basis, while durable goods and capital goods prices rose 0.3% and 0.1%, respectively. On the other hand, energy prices were down 2.3% and that for intermediate goods slid 0.8%.
