Italian retailers' confidence indicator declined to 91.7 in March from 94.6 in February, economic think tank ISAE said Friday. The survey found pessimism was widespread with regard to the current economic conditions.

Meanwhile, in the service sector, confidence improved significantly, a separate report from the ISAE showed. The relevant indicator rose to minus 27 from minus 32.

In the construction sector, sentiment rose to 75 in February from 67.2 in January.
