RTTNews - Tuesday, Italy's statistical office ISTAT revealed in a report that the nation recorded a trade surplus of EUR 82 million in March, following a revised trade deficit of EUR 895 million in February. Economists had expected a surplus of EUR 336 million. A year ago, the trade deficit was EUR 538 million.

Exports dropped 17.7% year-on-year to EUR 25.74 billion, while imports declined 19.4% to EUR 25.67 billion.

Meanwhile, the trade with the EU countries showed a deficit of EUR 85 million in March, compared to the EUR 676 million surplus in the previous year.

Exports fell 19.6% annually to EUR 14.75 billion, while imports declined 16% to EUR 14.83 billion.
