Italy's new car registrations totaled 214,218 in March, representing an increase of 0.24% from the same month in the previous year, a report by the country's Infrastructure Ministry showed. In the previous year, 213,702 new cars were registered.

In March, registration of Fiat cars, which accounted for about 25% of total registrations, grew 3.5% annually. At the same time, registration of Ford cars, accounting for about 10% of total registrations, rose 33.8%.

In the January to March period, registrations of new cars decreased 19.1% compared to the same period in the previous year. Registration of Fiat cars dropped 19.3%, while those of Ford cars fell 1.4%.
