RTTNews - Italy's current account deficit decreased to EUR2.7 billion in April from EUR3.9 billion last year, the Bank of Italy said Monday.

During the month, the surplus in the goods account improved to EUR970 million from EUR68 million last year, while the deficit in the current transfers account narrowed to EUR664 million from EUR1.38 billion.

At the same time, the deficit in the services account worsened to EUR533 million from EUR450 million, and the income account deficit increased to EUR2.5 billion from EUR2.17 billion.

Meanwhile, the capital account showed a surplus of EUR 8 million in April, reversing from a deficit of EUR10 million in the previous year. The financial account showed a deficit of EUR1.6 billion, lower than a deficit of EUR2.15 billion a year earlier.
