Rose McIver as Liv
Liv (Rose McIver) and her new zombie boyfriend, Justin (Tongayi Chirisa), become closer to one another after they share the brains of a daredevil in Season 3, episode 8 of “iZombie.” The CW

A daredevil is burned alive after performing a dangerous, fiery bike stunt in Season 3, episode 8 of “iZombie.”

While the trailer for the episode shows that the daredevil did the stunt on his own volition, it seems that Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) suspects foul play in his death, forcing Liv (Rose McIver) to eat the brain of the supposed victim. After consuming the said brain, Liv starts to manifest the brain owner’s disorderly personality, finding herself stapling a guy’s tongue and kicking a kid in his private parts.

According to the synopsis for the installment, Liv shares the brain with her new zombie boyfriend, Justin (Tongayi Chirisa), and the experience brings them closer to one another. In this week’s Season 3, episode 7, Justin asked Major’s (Robert Buckley) permission to court Liv. And with Major’s blessing, Justin accompanied Liv to the Scratching Post, where the two got to know each other. Towards the end of the episode, Justin got a note from Liv asking if he likes her. Justin marked the “yes” box and asked Major to return the note to Liv.

The synopsis for the episode also reveals that Blaine is back to his old ways. As seen in a number of promotional photos for the episode, Blaine abducts his father Angus (Robert Knepper) after he probably found out that Angus and Don E. (Bryce Hodgson) have been working together to bring down his brain business.

“There will be more with all three of us and there will be more with just Blaine and Angus, and that’s some juicy stuff you’ve got to look forward to coming up,” Anders teased to Access Hollywood earlier this month. “I think that’s episode … 8.”

The synopsis for episode 8 also states that Ravi (Rahul Kohli) makes progress in his new research. It’s unclear what this new research is, but executive producer Rob Thomas revealed to E! News that Ravi “is going to have an idea for something else that could be done and he’s going to move into a different direction.”

While Ravi’s new research will put his work on the zombie cure on hold, Thomas said that there’s a good reason why Liv’s boss is moving on to this new project. “The truth is, I think he’s always going to be trying to cure Liv and other zombies,” Thomas said of Ravi. “But as most people probably realize, on a show called ‘iZombie,’ by the time Liv gets a cure, hopefully we’re doing the emotional farewell episode. So I hope that we don’t find that cure anytime soon.”

“Veronica Mars” alum Jason Dohring also makes his debut appearance as Chase Graves in episode 8. As previously reported, Chase is part of the Fillmore-Graves hierarchy and happens to be Vivian Stoll’s (Andrea Savage) brother-in-law. Although Chase and Vivian are technically family, both characters don’t see eye-to-eye when it comes to running the firm.

“There’s some internal politics there,” Thomas told TV Guide of Chase and Vivian’s relationship. “They may have different ways that they would run the company. He’s coming back from overseas and he throws a wrench in the dynamics of Fillmore Graves.”

“iZombie” Season 3, episode 8, titled “Eat a Knievel,” airs on Tuesday, May 23 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
